Shreyas Iyer has guided Kolkata Knight Riders to three victories and three losses in the current IPL season
India head coach Ravi Shastri believes Shreyas Iyer
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri believes Shreyas Iyer, the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper in his inaugural season, has a natural aptitude for leadership. Since taking over for Shreyas before of the IPL 2022, KKR have won three and lost three matches in their first six outings under the Mumbaikar’s leadership. He believes that Shreyas would only improve as the tournament goes on. Shastri made the following remarks while appearing on Star Sports.
Ravi Shastri stated that:
“Shreyas was born to be a captain. Look at his aggressive captaincy; you don’t get the impression he’s leading KKR for the first time in his leadership style. It appears that he has been captaining them for the last three to four seasons, as evidenced by the lucidity of his thinking ” The type of cricket he must play as a batter is crystal clear in his thoughts. In the meanwhile, he knows what he needs to do as captain to lead his club to the playoffs and win the championship.”
Ex-West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop believes in Shreyas
“Liked the way he spoke during the before and post-match press conferences. Which indicates that he has a clear idea of what he intends to do in the future. This guy has the potential to make a big impact.” After two straight losses, ex-West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop believes Shreyas will bounce back stronger. Because he has a solid head on his shoulders and the backing of some seasoned campaigners.
“It will take him a little while to get used to living at KKR”, Bishop said:
“I think Shreyas can get his troops back together and fight back even though he has lost two fights in a row. As captain of the Delhi Capitals, he made them better and better each year. Which made them even better “There was a Bishop who said that
“It will take him a little while to get used to living at KKR, but he has a lot of people who know how to fight. Andre Russell and Sunil Narine have been playing for a long time. Brendon McCullum, the coach, is also very well-known. So I’m sure Shreyas will get the guys going.”
