Cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad/Ruturaj Dashrat Gaikwad is an Indian cricketer who was born on January 31, 1997. He plays for Maharashtra in the Indian Premier League and for the Chennai Super Kings in domestic cricket (IPL). In July 2021, he played his first game for the India cricket team. In the 2021 Indian Premier League tournament, he scored the most runs of anyone. During the Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2021, he was the captain of the Maharashtra T20 team.
Early life
Cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad is from Pune, Maharashtra. Dashrath Gaikwad, who was his father, worked for the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Sawita Gaikwad, his mother, works as a teacher in a school run by the city. Gaikwad says that his parents never told him to study more or play cricket less. Gaikwad is from Pargaon Memane, a village in the Saswad area of the Pune district in the state of Maharashtra. He went to St. Joseph school for his first few years of school. He went to school at the Lakashmi bai Nadgude school in Pune. He went to school at the college run by the Marathvada Mitra Mandal.

Ruturaj Gaikwad started to play at a young age. When he was 11, he joined the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy. He started out playing for the state’s 16s team and then moved on to the state’s 19s teams.

In 2014-2015, when his career got started, he scored a lot of runs in the Cooch Behar trophy. He scored the second most points all season. And in the next season of the same trophy, he scored more runs, which helped him get a spot on the under 19 team.
On October 6, 2016, he played his first game of first-class cricket for the Maharashtra team against the Jharkhand team in the Ranji trophy. But he couldn’t play in the tournament because he hurt his finger. Six weeks after his first show, on February 2, 2017, he came back.
In the same month, on February 25, 2017, he played his first List A game against Himachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

On June 10, 2021, BCCI announced India’s 19-man team for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. Ruturaj was chosen for this team. But he didn’t make it onto the ODI team. Ruturaj was chosen to play in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. He missed the first match of this series, but he played in the second T20i match. On July 28, 2021, he played in his first Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka. In that game, he scored 21 runs in 18 balls.

In 2018, Ruturaj Gaikwad made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings. CSK paid Rs. 20 lakhs for Gaikwad. He was the last player that the team picked at the IPL auctions in 2018.
Ruturaj did not play in the IPL in 2018, but the team kept him on for 2020. He played his first game for the team against Rajasthan Royals on September 23, 2020. Even though he was out on the first ball, he scored in each of the next two games.
