5. KL Rahul (India) – 29 Innings

4. Aaron Finch (Australia) – 29 Innings
Having made his T20I debut against England in January 2011, Australian skipper Aaron Finch is also the joint-fourth fastest batter to achieve 1000 T20I runs in the format. Finch also took 29 innings to reach 1000 T20I runs. His T20I career is phenomenal, as he holds the record for the highest individual score (175) in the format. With a knock of 43 runs against Sri Lanka in February 2017, Finch completed it.
3. Virat Kohli (India) – 27 Innings
Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is certainly a one-in-a-generation player. Virat has been consistent in all three formats of the game for so long, and it only took him 27 innings to reach 1000 T20I runs. In June 2010, he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe and finished his 1000 runs against South Africa in October 2015.
2. Babar Azam (Pakistan) – 26 Innings
The game of cricket is often compared between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. This is because both players are among the top ones of our generation. His performance for Pakistan in all formats has earned him the captaincy of his team. In November 2018, the 28-year-old scored a 58-ball 79 in a match against New Zealand to reach 1000 T20I runs in one inning less than Virat. He took 26 innings to achieve this milestone.
1. Dawid Malan (England) – 24 Innings
A star T20I batter, Dawid Malan, is the fastest to reach 1000 runs in T20I. He made his T20I debut against South Africa in June 2017 and scored 68 off 46 in that match. He completed the 1000-run mark in 24 innings against India in March 2021.
