Mohammed Shami was put back into India’s T20 World Cup team by the BCCI. He is in the reserves with Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar. Also, there was a lot of talk about how Umran Malik’s raw speed made him a sure pick for the World Cup.

Before India’s T20 World Cup team was announced, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said that he thought Malik should be on the team. Sunil Gavaskar, who used to be captain of the Indian team, also said something along these lines.
“Sachin Tendulkar was the last Indian player who really got me excited. “After that, I’m looking forward to seeing Umran Malik,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports in June. Malik wasn’t even picked for India’s T20 World Cup team, as it turned out. The pickers didn’t even think about him for the home T20I series against Australia and South Africa.
