Gujarat Titans (GT) are expected to trade Lockie Ferguson to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Shivam Mavi.
Interested franchises are required to submit a list of their retained and released players for IPL 2023 by November 15 to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Kolkata Knight Riders released the Kiwi pacer ahead of the mega-auction in February. Gujarat Titans paid INR 10 crores for the paceman.
As injury plagued his tournament campaign, the New Zealand pacer managed only 12 wickets in 13 matches, missing three matches for Gujarat.
In the mega-auction, Gujarat Titans tried their best to secure Shivam Mavi, an uncapped pacer. KKR, however, won the bid and signed Mavi for INR 7.25 crore.
In the 2022 edition of the cash-rich league, the 2018 U-19 World Cup pacer played six matches for KKR and picked up five wickets at an economy rate of 10.32.
The ten franchises have been asked to retain as many players as possible before the mini-auction in December. In the mini-auction, the amount spent on a released player in the mega-auction will be added to the team’s overall purse.
