Six teams have won the IPL in the past 14 years. Seven teams remain after one disbanded. Consistency, win percentage, and titles aren’t enough to determine the most dangerous IPL squad. Despite making 11 playoffs and 9 IPL finals, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings are not the most successful IPL team. Chennai Super Kings – IPL 2011 team
Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most successful IPL teams for a number of reasons, but they looked the most dangerous in 2011. It’s hard to keep up the same level of success, but the Chennai Super Kings did it in 2010 by winning both the IPL and the Champions League Twenty20. They are now everyone’s favorite team. As if that wasn’t enough, MS Dhoni went on to win the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011.
The MS Dhoni-led team came to IPL 2011 with a lot of emotional fatigue, which was made worse by the mega-auction. Before the mega-auction, each team could keep no more than four players. CSK chose to keep Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, and Albie Morkel.
But where others saw problems, the CSK management saw a chance to put together one of the most dangerous teams in the IPL. Ravichandran Ashwin, Dwayne Bravo, Francis du Plessis, and Michael Hussey were all big buys, and they all went on to become IPL legends.
