The young fast bowler of the Pakistan cricket team, Naseem Shah, did something that hadn’t happened in 52 years of ODIs. Naseem Shah took 5 wickets for 57 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand. On 21 August 2022, Naseem Shah played an ODI against the Netherlands. In that match too, Naseem Shah took five wickets (for 33 runs).
Now Naseem has 15 wickets in 4 ODIs. Naseem Shah is the first bowler in ODI history to take 15 wickets in four games. The record used to belong to Ryan Harris and Gary Gilmour of Australia. In their first 4-4 ODIs, both took 14-14 wickets. During his international career (2009-2015), Harris played 21 ODIs and took 44 wickets.

Naseem Shah is the sixth bowler from Pakistan to take 5-5 wickets in two straight ODIs. Before Naseem Shah, Waqar Younis, Aaqib Javed, Saklam Mushtaq, Azhar Mahmood and Shaheen Shah Afridi did it. Only Waqar Younis has taken five wickets in three straight ODIs.
In the first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand, Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl at the National Stadium. In 50 overs, New Zealand scored 255 runs for 9 wickets. Michael Bracewell and wicketkeeper Tom Latham both scored 43 for New Zealand.
