This record belongs to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was the captain of India. He sold his bat at auction for £100,000 ($161,295). R K Global Shares & Securities Ltd (India) bought it at MS Dhoni’s “East Meets West” Charity Dinner in London on July 18, 2011.
The bat is special because Dhoni used it in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium. For the first time in 28 years, MSD hit the winning shot with the bat.
